Reasons For Damage To The Material Of The Sealing Surface Of The Regulating Valve

Due to the wide range of uses of the regulating valve, the operating conditions of the sealing surface are very different. Its working pressure can range from vacuum to ultra-high pressure, and its working temperature can range from minus 296 to 816 degrees Celsius, sometimes reaching 1200 degrees Celsius. The working medium ranges from non-corrosive media to Strong corrosive media such as various acids and bases. Therefore, it is necessary to select an appropriate sealing surface material according to the operating conditions.

(1) When the surface of the worn metal corrodes, oxides will be produced, which are usually covered by the parts affected by corrosion, which can delay further corrosion of the metal. However, when slippage occurs, the oxide on the surface is removed and the exposed metal surface is further corroded.

(2) Wear of abrasive particles This is the wear that occurs when the rough and hard surface slides on the soft surface, and the hard material is pressed into the surface of the soft material and the wear is generated when the soft surface is folded. If a hard material is pressed into the surface of a soft material, small grooves form on the contacting surface. The material shed from this slot is extruded from the surface of the object as debris and loose particles.
